Not what it used to be and now feels overrated.
Queued for an hour on a week night so still popular but I wonder how much is riding on legacy.
Food was still good but not amazing as I remember it. I felt like the ramen broth was excessively salty and over flavored, making it almost sickly. However, the most disappointing is the stink if you're sitting anywhere near the kitchen / bathrooms. A concoction of bleach, food remnants and toilets. It felt somewhat unsanitary.
Poor customer service / management.
TL;DR
I was due to camp here September 9th through 11th '22, but a 41,000 acre wildfire about 15 miles from camp was burning the day we were supposed to travel and the US air quality index was over 400 at Pollock Pines, which according to the government website is hazardous to people of all ages and health, and the area should be avoided.
I called the campgrounds 3 times on the day I was due to travel to check with them first hand. I got three VM transfers, no one picked up. So we decided to act on the government advice and not go.
As soon as I put the phone down after the third call, I decided to email them to ask if I could get a refund. I got a response 3 days later telling me they were open for business so no refund!
I don't know my rights in this situation. If they're open for business I guess I'm not entitled to a refund. On the other hand they didn't answer my calls (giving the impression they may have evacuated or done the responsible thing and closed) and they didn't respond at all for 3 days (a day after my reservation was complete).
Irrespective, from a customer service point of view it's simply shockingly bad.
Aside from me not recovering my hard earned cash, I think it's neglectful to remain open and expose guests and staff to the hazardous conditions. If you've ever been that close to a wildfire, you'll know it's BAD!! And not something you want to be camping in!!
All that said, after reading the other 1 star reviews here, I'm actually glad I didn't go!
I've been coming here for about 12 years and it's just the best. Consistent cut, always just how I want it and usually very little wait time. They're efficient and get you done quickly at a really good price.
I started coming here because I lived nearby, when I moved about 10miles away, I tried out some other salons and barbers for convenience of location but none were as good as The Expert Cut. For as long as I'm in the Bay Area I will be a customer of Mai and The Expert Cut.
Very average cookies and would have given 3 stars if not for the rudeness of the person who sold us the cookies. A grunt was the only acknowledgement of us while we waited to order, then a disgruntled laugh when we didn't tip for a take out cookie order!
I had multiple trees pruned and some larger limbs removed on a large tree that hadn't been maintained in a while. I was really impressed with the knowledge exhibited about tree anatomy and maintenance requirements. The care taken by the entire crew was refreshing, they are clearly passionate about the work they do. All debris was cleared and removed from site. Sean was great to deal with, honest and transparent with his costs. The process and the end result were very pleasing. Thanks Curry Bros!
