Probably the worst $4 I've ever spent.
Walked in at lunch and the place was deserted, most of the lights weren't even on. Only one girl working who took my order right away, but moved like molasses making the drink. I ordered a Thai Tea, and after five minutes was handed a purple drink. Uhh...what? After pointing out the color she realized her mistake and remade my drink (another five minutes). Finally I get my order and leave, take a sip, and jeezus I don't even understand how it could be this bad...
There was a thick layer of foam on the top that would not go away no matter how much I stirred, and a shit ton of black I don't even know what floating in the drink that kept falling to the bottom and clumping together. Even with these factors, the drink tasted like straight water; no flavor at all. Took two sips and threw it away.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Nic Z.San Francisco, Vereinigte Staaten3751806541822. Sep. 2015
My friends and I were all very happy with what we got at Yolatea - not sure why there are so many unhappy reviews. We opted for the self-serve froyo with toppings, and I found the pricing to be extremely reasonable (45c per ounce); I was actually shocked by my total (below $2 -- when does that happen?!).
I got the cheesecake froyo with some chocolate chips, kiwi, and strawberries, and it hit the spot on a super-hot day. I would gladly come back!
The cashier wasn't the friendliest, but I don't blame her. It looked like she was the only one there, so I'm sure that gets lonely/boring pretty quick. The toppings are also fairly limited, so maybe I should give 3 stars, but meh.. I was happy.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 29. Aug. 2012

Ordered the honey green tea milk tea here. The milk tea was tasty and I could taste the tea in it, the boba was just ok. It was on the chewier/harder side, but still decent. I think I've had better boba at other places, but if you only want milk tea, it's pretty decent.
Also sampled the pistachio flavored froyo, which tasted a bit too sweet in my opinion, but you can ask for sample cups to sample the flavors from the cashier.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Judy L.Dublin, Vereinigte Staaten50469552151. Okt. 2016
Awkwardly silent one man show. If you order crepes, other customers get ignored for 5 minutes. Yogurt toppings were a little tired and bruised, overall bad location hidden away from main street. Hardly any business every time I walk by after dinner at gan....

Yolatea is the antidote to those urban FroYo chains with those bright fruit colors, round white fluff ball light fixtures, jeweled toned mini-tiled counter sides, swirled wall for the PYOFY machines, and large lettered health claim photos of fruit.
This place is on a little side street just off the main drag (Main Street) of old town Downtown Pleasanton. It has understated decor in darker tones (nearly impossible to find with FroYo shops with mid-century candied colored decor updated into plastic patio furniture), and uses rare Freedom 360 FroYo machines, which have the feel of the high quality black Taylor machines with automatic temperature control, but actually pour even a thicker feed of FroYo than those, and certainly better flow and consistency than the cheaper Silver Taylor machines you find at most PYOFY (pour your own FroYo) places.
They do charge by the ounce and have the typically sized tubs. They have a decent selection of toppings, perhaps 40 in all. And they have table and chairs enough to seat about 25 people.
I had the Choco-Vanilla swirl with a blast of coffee flavor. Didn't go for the tart fruit flavor this time. They have 5 machines, so they offer usually 10 flavors for your FroYo pleasure.
Froyo Wanugee here, you know you love me (and FroYo Lolia!)Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - 15. Juni 2009Aktualisierter Beitrag
I just realized they charge 43 cents per ounce instead of the standard 35 cents an ounce. No wonder my yogurt seemed more expensive than I usually am used to paying. They do have lots of different flavours to choose from and it is pretty convenient for me. They also have crepes here though and I saw them making one for a customer. They looked and smelled really good so maybe next time I'll try that.
I think they have a loyalty card but I haven't gotten one yet so I'll have to ask to see if they offer that.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 05. I'm excited that there's finally a fro-yo place where you can fill your own cup in my 'hood. That said, I've been spoiled by all of the choices in the peninsula that this place doesn't seem to be on par with the ones over there. The best fruit flavour was actually the Strawberry kiwi sorbet. I do like the fact that they also offer gelato and pearl tea so if you don't like fro-yo, you can always go with one of those two choices as well. The interior is pretty open and spacious which pleasantly surprised me. They're still new though so I'm sure they're working out the kinks. I'm just glad I don't have to travel to YoSwirl in Fremont to get my fill your cup fro-yo fix. That is the only other place that I know in this area.

Everything you could ask for! I came on opening weekend for a mid shopping snack. This was perfect! The ginger honey milk tea was wonderul! The pearls aren't the hard kind you get at other tea places too. The cashiers were so helpful and nice to help me try nearly all the gelatos AND yogurts! The tarts are my personal favorite flavor, but it now seems as though I found my favorite place for it! LOVED the blueberry yogurt the best . Yes, I did come back that day for the gelato, because after leaving Yolatea, the white chocolate macadamian and saffron were calling my name! I loved how the flavor was so on point and the gelato was as thick as real gelato should be!
This place is has it all! AND it's actually good. If you don't try it, you're missing out!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 18. Apr. 2009
I have similar thoughts to many of the reviewers- the fro-yo is pretty soft, so by the time I got home I had to stick mine in the freezer for an hour to get it to the right consistency.
They have a ton of fro-yo flavors to choose from. They also offer gelato, pearl tea, and crepes. I only tried the fro-yo. Sweeter than Blush, but again, they all had the same soft consistency issue.
So why would I come here again? If I am craving toppings or if I have my 4 year old daughter with me (because she always craves toppings). They have a lot of toppings to choose from, and I love that they have the lychee jelly and mochi. There were a lot of other Asian toppings, and they had a lot of fruit and candy toppings to choose from too. Honestly, the topping selection here is probably larger than the other places in the area that I have been to (Blush and Delatti).
At 43 cents per ounce- it worked out to being cheaper for me than Blush and Delatti. It was less than $6, and I had a lot of toppings on mine! The downside? No frequent shopper card- though the lady at the counter said that they are working on them.
I love fro- yo- for my tri-valley area I would rank Blush #1, this place #2, and Delatti #3.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 28371374255430. Juni 2009
The first time that I went here I regret that I did not try the fro-yo as it seems that is what everyone else is writing about, however I have tried the bubble tea and the crepes. The green tea is much more suited for people whom rarely drink tea, as an avid tea drinker I could barely taste any tea at all. It was more like a colored water drink, My friend honey lemon tea tasted like honey water with WAY too much boba, as much as 2 scoops, now i get that some people like the stuff, but with so much boba it is as if you are eating tapioca more than actually drinking the tea.
The crepes are DELICIOUS, although it does take a while, they are definitely worth it. The amount of Nutella that they spread on the crepes, doubles or even triples the amounts of other places. The crepe itself is crispy and soft, although I wished that they had an ice cream crepe option.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 154511135223. Okt. 2016
Good quick stop form Fritz, gelato, crepes or boba... Not the BEST quality around, but good if you're looking for a quick fix downtown and don't want to drive lengths for high quality.
