Alt Ôsterrich I found completely by accident.

Suppertime has not yet been officially launched. We were warmly welcomed by the waiter.

I chose in my opinion the most climate table by the window. Décor is totally not my style. Dirty windows and mirrors in the room do not fit into this rank retaurants they want to be. Not exactly classical music is my kind which I like to listen to, especially when i am eating.

I decided on a traditional schnitzel, I have to admit, that was pretty good. In contrast, served potatoes did not go quite to my taste. The broth with a noticeable taste of bullion cube.
To the sound of the microwave with the prices of the menu is ridiculous.

The bill is very high and the without excitement. Pffff..

So, after a week in Berlin, I finally succumbed to the need for Weiner schnitzel, and this place came up in a Yelp search. The place is small (but not unusual for Berlin I suppose) and the waiter was friendly - but with limited English. Thats OK because they did have (helpfully) an English menu - although since I was there for the schnitzel, I could have muddled through without it.

The schnitzel was excellent. A huge portion of crispy fried veal with a very large side of warm potato salad. Big enough for two people if you added a soup before and perhaps shared a dessert after.

      Wunderbar!

The best of Schöneberg, my favorite restaurant in Berlin. The meat is top quality; the service is "herzliche" and prompt. I do not understand any negative reviews - I have eaten in word class restaurants around the globe and Diodata stacks up. I highly recommend the kaiser gulasch as well as the pork in peppercorn sauce. It is an elegant environmwnt while also being laid back. Again, the meat (something I am paranoid about) is palpably high quality.

      I love their food!
Whether it's the Schnitzel or the deer Gulasch, the food is consistently good with generous plates.
I often leave with a Kaiserschmarrn for later :)

The Tiroler Herrengeröstel had great aroma. Very friendly, competent and infomative service.

I have been loving Diodata Restaurant for the past few years. There is a great selection of Austrian/German dishes on the menu and they are all delicious. I was slightly disappointed that the recent menu re-do has eliminated the Tiroler Herrengeröstel - it was a huge pan full of potatoes and meat - but you can't go wrong with the Wiener Schnitzel. Last time I had a vegetarian Spätzle which was delicious and so enormous that I had to take half of it home in a doggie bag. Very friendly service and much recommended.

Super leckeres Schnitzel, knusprig paniert und auch großzügig. Der Kartoffelsalat ist nicht so mein Geschmack, schmeckt aber trotzdem gut:)
