Bleh. It's a Costa, so they get assembled in a factory and drop-shipped into place. The cake is cake, the coffee is coffee, there is absolutely nothing special going on here.
The toilet is inadequate but nonetheless functioning and accessible. The staff will take your money and bring you what you ordered. The chairs are hard or squishy depending on if you chose a hard or squishy chair, the lights are illuminating, the... oh, you get the idea.
If you want coffee and cake, this place will satisfy your requirements. If you're looking for exquisite service and talented baristas, you're gonna need to keep searching.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Howard D.Vereinigtes Königreich1131. Apr. 2015
As coffee chains go you tend to choose one or another and Costa is my choice unless I can get to 6/8 Kafe in Birmingham.
As you would expect from any big chain, it's a pretty standard format store to store, coffee, cake etc all taste largely the same, nothing outstanding but good.
What sets stores apart from one another is staff and the team here are really good. Always warm and welcoming, going the extra mile to help customers both able and less so.
Live music sessions during the week from time to time too.
It may be part of a chain but it's a little bit special here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicola T.Birmingham, Vereinigtes Königreich616819827. Mai 2012Erster Beitrag
No it's not an indie, yes it's a chain, no I don't normally go to places like this but yes I'd recommend it. If you are shopping in Acocks Green grabbing a decent coffee is quite limiting. I wouldn't visit here regularly unless it was very good and it is.
This is mainly because it is run as a franchise and the owner and staff are super friendly, care about their customers and are an active part of the Acocks Green town centre.
The coffee is normally excellent and if you are lucky enough to grab one of the comfy seats at the front of the store you can easily while away half an hour or so. They always have the daily newspapers to read. The shop is kept extremely clean.
They also have regular events for teenagers (Chill) one Friday evening a month.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (pixiho…)Birmingham, Vereinigtes Königreich7117120. Jän. 2009
This branch of Costa is situated in the main shopping centre of Acocks Green. There is street parking a short distance away, and a private paying car park behind this row of shops.
Of all the coffee chains, Costa is my preferred one, primarily because the coffee is reliably good and the cappuccinos taste like real coffee instead of burnt milk. The hot chocolate is a great warmer on a wintery day.
In addition to the drinks, Costa offers some lovely cakes and biscuits (the little selection box of biscuits sometimes manages to make its way home). Lunchtime sandwiches include some good toasted options such as roasted vegetables with mozarella.
This branch of Costa is often crowded, and there are extra tables outside: great in the summer, and also good for cooling your coffee in winter, so you can go and carry on shopping! The staff here are friendly and helpful, which may explain why the place is so crowded most of the time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kozby E.Puget Sound, Vereinigte Staaten452292286. They have convenient locations, their coffee is OK. I do enjoy the variety of their pastries and other sandwiches more.

Costa Coffee, Costa lot but and it is a big but this place is quality and the coffee etc that you buy here is second to none. This little shop is really clean and very cosy and a nice place to unwind if your feeling a little stressed and need a caffeine shot, this is the place where I like to go if I fancy treating myself and just fancy a natter with a friend. The staff here are lovely and always willing to advise and generally make you feel welcome definately a place to come back too.

I've been to this costa three or four times, and have had no problems the staff are helpful and friendly as usual and it is cosy and clean :-)
I go to a costa night group where young people perform etc. and the staff manage the cafe very well indeed always maintaining high standards of cleanliness and helping.

I recently fell over in the toilet here which is supposed to be a disabled toilet, however it doesnt meet the DDA guidelines on disabled access and hence I was left for 20 minutes lying on the floor unable to reach the inadequate emergency chord which was tied up out of reach. Access Auditing have been informed.
